Künstler des Jahres beim Deutschen Jazzpreis. SWR Jazzpreis, Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Lillinger, verknüpft polyrhythmische, mehr-dimensionale Strukturen und ein ganz eigenes Verständnis von Timing und Metrum zu einem unnachahmlichen Ganzen.
Als Instrumentalist, Komponist, Produzent und Gründer seines eigenen Labels PLAIST, strebt er stets danach, Neues zu kreieren - „hyperrealistische, Genre-freie Musik“, wie er es selbst nennt. Sein Kosmos reicht dabei vom Avant-Garde Ensemble „Dell / Lillinger / Westergaard“ und dem gefeierten Piano-Trio „Punkt.Vrt.Plastik“ über das Duo PENUMBRA zusammen mit Elias Stemeseder, bis zum international hochkarätig besetzten Nonett „Open Form For Society“.
