In dem Dokumentarfilm erzählen die Musiker über ihre Familie, ihren musikalischen Werdegang, die Entwicklung der improvisierten Musik in (Ost-)Deutschland, ihre musikalischen Ideen – und vor allem musizieren sie zusammen.
Der Regisseur Winfried Bettmer ist anwesend und stellt sich im Anschluss den Fragen des Journalisten Thomas Mau und des Publikums.

Anlässlich unseres Festivals gibt es ab 09:15 Uhr Frühstück im Café ADA!

Conny Bauer, who celebrated his 80th birthday in June 2023, is one of the co-founders of free jazz in (East) Germany and is a globally recognized luminary on the trombone, as was his brother Johannes Bauer, who passed away in May 2016 at the age of 62. The third brother, Matthias Bauer, has made a name for himself internationally in the world of improvised music on the double bass.

In the documentary, the musicians talk about their families, their musical careers, the development of improvised music in (East) Germany, their musical ideas—and above all, they play music together.
Director Winfried Bettmer will be present and will answer questions from journalist Thomas Mau and the audience after the screening.

To celebrate our festival, breakfast will be served at Café ADA starting at 9:15 a.m.!
