[DE] Die beiden ungleichen Wörter "Exist" & "Exit", die in "Exi(s)t" vereint sind, fordern uns auf, darüber nachzudenken, was in der Realität existiert und was aus der Realität austritt und nur eine Illusion ist, die ihre eigene falsche Geschichte aufrechterhält. Können wir uns darauf verlassen, dass Kultur und Kunst zur Entwicklung der Gesellschaft beitragen, oder können sie zu Propagandawerkzeugen und zu Instrumenten der Zerstörung werden?

[EN] The two disparate words "Exist" & "Exit" combined into "Exi(s)t", call for us to reflect on what exists in reality and what exits reality, and is just an illusion that perpetuates its own false history. Can we count on culture and art to contribute to the development of society, or can they turn into tools of propaganda and become instruments of destruction?

[DE] Olha Kebas ist eine Künstlerin aus Kiew, die nach der russischen Invasion gezwungen war, ihre Heimatstadt zu verlassen. In der Performance "Exi(s)t" erzählt sie tänzerisch von ihrer Heimat, ihrer Familie und dem Krieg, der in ihr tägliches Leben eindrang. Sie zeigt auch die Auswirkungen der russischen Propaganda auf das Leben ihrer Angehörigen und Landsleute. Trotz der dramatischen Umstände ist Olha immer noch auf der Suche nach Hoffnung und einem Ausweg aus ihrer derzeitigen Situation. Begleitet wird sie auf diesem Weg von Mandar Purandare, dessen Musik ihr die Tür öffnet … zu existieren.

[EN] Olha Kebas is an artist from Kyiv who was forced to leave her hometown after the Russian invasion. In the performance "Exi(s)t" she talks - through dance - about her home and family, and the war that invaded their daily life. She also shows the impact of Russian propaganda on the lives of her loved ones and compatriots. Despite the dramatic circumstances, Olha is still searching on her way for hope and a way out(exit) of her current situation. She is accompanied on this journey by Mandar Purandare, whose music opens the door for her … to exist.
